Douglas Morrison, CEO & Co-founder

​Doug is the co-founder and CEO at ILS. He drives the company's vision, strategy and growth. He earned a BBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1997 and a MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2004. His previous jobs have involved international business development and operating experience with consulting, pharmaceutical, and healthcare education companies. During his career, he has developed, marketed and commercialized new products and services in the financial, pharmaceutical and information technology sectors. His interest in ionic liquids began when he learned of their potential application as superior alternatives to antiquated and hazardous industrial technologies.




​​​Dr. Mauricio Quiroz-Guzman, Senior Scientist

Mauricio is ILS’s lead scientist and co-owner.  His research interests and expertise are the product of 18 years of education, academic training and industrial work. His areas of interest are organic, inorganic and organometallic synthesis, catalysis, and the applications of ionic liquids as fluids for industrial processes. His work reflects the diversity of his scientific interests and it has been published in international peer-reviewed journals.


His scientific and technical knowledge in the field of ionic liquids are actively contributing to ILS growing intellectual property portfolio. His skills, along with those of the scientific staff of ILS, constitute a technical team capable of advancing ionic liquids beyond fundamental science.
